Geostat: UK, Turkey, Ireland - Georgia’s Top Investing Countries in 2019
The foreign direct investments (FDI) in Georgia amounted to USD 1,267.7 million in 2019, up 0.2% from the same period of the previous year, shows preliminary data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
The United Kingdom, Turkey and Ireland were Georgia’s top investing countries in 2019.
The share of FDIs by major foreign direct investor countries are as follows:
The United Kingdom (19.5%)
Turkey (18.7%)
Ireland (10.5%)

The share of the three major economic sectors in FDI reached 48.4% in 2019.
The largest share of FDI was registered in the financial sector, totaling USD 261.8 million.
The energy sector was the second with USD 193.9 million, followed by the hotels and restaurants sector with USD 157.5 million.
Adjusted data will be published on 17 August 2020 that may affect some changes in the existing dynamic sets, Geostat said.
