Armenian PM, Wife in Self-isolation as Coronavirus Cases Grow
Prime Minister of Armenian Nikol Pashinyan and his wife have isolated themselves.
Pashinyan said during a Facebook post that he and his wife would get tested for coronavirus tomorrow.
The Armenian PM and his wife recently visited Brazil, where they met with the President of Brazil and his spouse.
“This evening, we found out that the President of Brazil had tested positive for coronavirus. On March 7, Anna had a meeting with the wife of the President of Brazil, and unfortunately, they hugged each other and took a photo. First, we measured our temperature, but we didn’t have a high temperature. The news about the President of Brazil testing positive for coronavirus was denied. However, we will remain isolated, and tomorrow morning we will get tested to be sure that everything is fine,” Pashinyan said.
″The bad news is that five more people have tested positive for coronavirus from among the citizens quarantined in Echmiadzin. We now have 13 confirmed cases. The number of those isolated in Echmiadzin has increased to 100, and Echmiadzin now is under a spotlight,″ he added.
The overall number of confirmed coronavirus patients reached 13 in Armenia. Most of the infected people in the country are from Echmiadzin, the home city of Armenian apostolic church, as among the infected who were tested later yesterday were the people who contacted with the infected citizen from Echmiadzin who returned from Italy and despite having a high temperature went to the engagment party of her relative and infected at least 7 people as reported. Another citizen who tested positive yesterday returned from France.
