Mini-buses to Stop Operating in Tbilisi from March 18

Movement of mini-buses will be banned in Tbilisi from March 18, Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia announced at a special briefing today.

The relevant decision was made by the Inter-Agency Coordination Council to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus in the country.

"Today we are moving to the stage of the spread of the virus, which means that the number of patients will increase.

"A decision was made within the framework of the Council and the movement of mini-buses will be banned from tomorrow. This is one of the most important sources of the spread of the virus, so we made this decision. Municipal transport and metro will continue operating in the city, however, they will be disinfected daily so we can better manage the risks in this case," PM said.
