Health Minister: Additional 1 000 - 1 500 beds will be Prepared for Patients

"Currently, an additional 1 000 to 1 500 beds are being prepared for patients infected with the coronavirus," Minister of Health of Georgia Ekaterine Tikaradze said at a briefing today. 

She added that more than 500 beds are available at hospitals at present.

“Currently, 500 beds are available for patients. If the number of infected people increases, hospitals of the second group will be prepared, where a reserve of 700 beds is available. We also have third-level hospitals with the resource of additional 700-800 beds.

"We are also preparing additional beds, the number of which will range from 1 000 to 1 500,” the Minister said.

The number of cases of the new coronavirus has increased to 40 in Georgia.
