Georgia Cancels All in and out Passenger Flights
Inter-Agency Council against Coronavirus has made the decision to stop the flights of foreign airlines in or out of Georgia from March 21. Financed by the Georgian Government, only Georgian Airways flights will be carried out. The information was announced by Irakli Chikovani, Georgian Prime Minister’s Advisor.
Earlier today Georgian Airways announced that the company has started sending the company’s 95% staff on unpaid leave for an indefinite period. However, the Director-general of the airlines later on Friday said that the company has stopped the process, and the company would only send some employees on paid leave.
The Prime Minister’s Advisor has also informed the society that all the citizens flying in the following days will be quarantined for two weeks.
Georgia closed its borders on March 18 for foreign citizens. The country has 44 confirmed cases, and 1925 people are in quarantine.
