Another Georgian Citizen Dies of Coronavirus in Spain
A second Georgian citizen has died of coronavirus in Spain, the deputy director of the National Center for Disease Control of Georgia, Paata Imnadze, announced. Imnadze said the young woman had been suffering from cancer, rendering her more susceptible to the pathogen.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently liaising with the relevant agencies in Spain to assist the deceased woman’s family," Imnadze said.
The first Georgian citizen to die of coronavirus on March 19 was a 74-year-old woman residing in Spain. She was also suffering from a chronic illness alongside COVID-19.
Thus far, Georgia has registered a total of 48 cases of coronavirus. There are 1966 persons in quarantine and 259 under examination in hospitals throughout the country.
