Field Hospital Opened in Marneuli Municipality
The Emergency Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has opened a field hospital in the Marneuli Municipality in Georgia's Kvemo Kartli region.
The decision to arrange field infrastructure in the Marneuli and Bolnisi municipalities was taken by the Inter-Agency Coordination Council of the Government of Georgia.
Employees of the Emergency Service worked on the spot all night to set it up.
The Georgian government decided to put Marneuli and Bolnisi municipalities under a strict quarantine regime.
Travel has been banned in and out of the two municipalities, while all businesses are closed except critical infrastructure, including grocery stores and drug stores.
The government made the above decision after a middle-aged woman from the Marneuli municipality tested positive for the new coronavirus. Reportedly, the woman, who is in a critical condition and has pneumonia, has been in contact with dozens of people.
The source for the latest COVID-19 infection case confirmed in Marneuli could not be identified, which further aggravates the situation.
