Israeli President Reads to Quarantined Children Online
Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, called the "national grandfather" in the country, offered the Israeli parents a ‘short break’ by reading fairy tales online for their quarantined children.
“I know that this is not an easy time and that children are home. Even if we all love to be together as a family, this is a challenge. I invite you to join me for story time. I am reading Lea Goldberg’s wonderful, wise book ‘Room For Rent’. Read along with me, the whole family, or just the kids (and take your time to drink coffee)”, Rivlin said in his statement.
A seven-day state of emergency has been announced in Israel as part of the struggle to contain a local coronavirus outbreak that has altered daily life and put thousands under quarantine.
On March 20, an 88-year-old man who suffered from previous illnesses became the country's first casualty. He was a Holocaust survivor.
