Hospitalized Newborn Tests Negative for Coronavirus

A newborn baby from Marneuli Municipality who was hospitalized yesterday due to suspicious symptoms has tested negative for COVID-19, said the doctor at Tbilisi State Medical University, Lali Turdzeladze. 

The doctor added that the health condition of the newborn is improving. 

A mother of the newborn has also tested negative for the new coronavirus.  

“The condition of the newborn is much better compared to yesterday when it was critical. At this stage, the condition is considered to be of medium severity. The dynamics are very positive and we are very excited about it. In addition, the mother of the newborn no longer has a temperature and feels better. The virus has not been confirmed, the test taken yesterday is negative," she noted.
