Gov't Urges Citizens To Adhere to Restrictions in Place Under State of Emergency
Another session of the Inter-Agency Coordination Council on Coronavirus was held under the leadership of Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia.
Issues pertaining to the restrictions imposed as a result of the state of emergency that is in place throughout all of Georgia, including issues related to the enforcement of the quarantine in the municipalities of Marneuli and Bolnisi, were discussed during the session. It was noted that representatives of law enforcement agencies are strictly controlling adherence to the restrictions imposed as a result of the state of emergency and that relevant measures envisaged by the law will be used in case of any violations.
The government once again urged citizens to adhere to the restrictions imposed as a result of the state of emergency, to remain at home, and to refrain from going out unless there is an emergency. Otherwise, measures envisaged by law will be used in response.
Furthermore, the Coordination Council has decided that the registration deadline for the Unified National and Graduate exams, as well as the Student Grant Competition, will be extended by one month, until 18:00 on 30 April.
It was also noted at the session of the Council that 13 out of 81 patients infected with the coronavirus in Georgia have recovered. The Council was informed that one of the infected patients is pregnant, however, her health status is satisfactory. All patients are receiving appropriate treatment. Currently, 4505 people are in quarantine and 257 are under examination in hospitals.
The Inter-Agency Coordination Council continues to hold regular meetings under the leadership of the PM in order to take coordinated steps.
The Parliament and the Administration of the President of Georgia are actively involved in the Council's work.
