Health Official Thanks PM for Effective Work in Fight against COVID-19
"At this stage, we do not recommend the declaration of absolute quarantine in the country," Paata Imnadze, Deputy Director of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, said at a briefing today, noting that currently, the situation is not so complicated in terms of COVID-19 spread in Georgia.
He thanked Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia for the speedy implementation of all the recommendations so far.
“All of our recommendations have been implemented very quickly. So I would like to personally thank Mr. Giorgi Gakharia. There is no absolute quarantine recommendation from us yet. As soon as we see the need for this, we hope that it will be implemented as rapidly as other previous recommendations," he noted.
The total number of cases of coronavirus infection has increased to 81 in Georgia.
4505 people are in quarantine and 257 are under examination in hospitals.
13 out of 81 people have already recovered.
