Metro Avrasya Investment Holding Founder Donates GEL 500,000 to StopCoV Fund
Mr. Galip Ozturk, the founder of the JSC Metro Avrasya Investment Holding, has donated GEL 500,000 to the StopCoV Fund, as well as medical equipment and medicines worth GEL 1 million to the Georgian healthcare system.
Considering the current situation in the world, as well as civic responsibility and solidarity, the founder of Metro Avrasya Investment Holding, on behalf of the holding’s affiliated companies, made a financial contribution of GEL 500,000 to the StopCov Fund that supports social and healthcare activities. Mr. Ozturk also donated medical equipment and medicines worth GEL 1 million against the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
JSC Metro Avrasya Investment Holding and its affiliates are taking all necessary effective measures to continue operating smoothly, which is so important for the country's economy today. Among them are Green Insurance Georgia, an insurance company that has been operating since the beginning of the year.
“Metro Avrasya Investment Holding and its affiliates welcome the creation of the above fund, which is aimed at identifying the needs of combating the virus and properly distributing resources, in coordination with the private sector. We believe that this is an effective way to make joint efforts and therefore we decided to take part in this very timely initiative of the government", a representative of the holding said.
About the Metro Holding: The number of employees in the joint stock company and its affiliates has varied from 1,000 to 2,000. Apart from business activities, Mr. Ozturk is actively engaged in philanthropy. The founder has donated GEL 3 million to the Solidarity Fund, founded by the government and provided housing to large families in Batumi.
Mr. Galip Ozturk continues to work for and in Georgia, which involves both business and charity activities to assist the Georgian people.
