Minister Thanks Hotel Owners for Arranging Quarantine Zones in their Properties

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava thanked owners of brand hotels for the allocation of their property to the government free of charge to arrange quarantine spaces.

"Today, when Georgia, along with the rest of the world, is facing the greatest challenge, coronavirus, unity, support and the social responsibility of business representatives are vitally important.

"The decision was made by owners of Sheraton Grand Hotel, Moxy Tbilisi, Holiday Inn, Ibis and Dreamland Oasis Chakvi hotels to allocate their property for the arrangement of quarantine zones and help the state in this way.

"More than 4 200 people are placed in quarantine spaces in 64 hotels across Georgia. I am sure that through joint efforts, we will cope with the difficult situation and overcome this new challenge,” the Minister said.

In recent days the Sheraton Grand Hotel, Holiday Inn, Moxy Tbilisi, Ibis Hotels and Dreamland Oasis Chakvi have set up rooms free of charge for recently arrived Georgian citizens who will have to be placed under quarantine for 14 days.

The Georgian National Tourism Association continues negotiations with various hotels throughout the country to create new quarantine zones.

The Agency provides transportation, accommodation and meals for quarantined persons.

"We urge other hotels as well to get involved in the important process of preventing a new coronavirus in Georgia," GNTA head Mariam Kvrivishvili said.
