Man Detained for Killing His Infant, Stabbing Wife

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has detained a man from Georgia's Kakheti region for killing his son and stabbing his wife.

The murder took place in the Gurjaani district of Kakheti.

The Ministry said in the official statement that an individual, identified as I.N.(DoB 1996), has been arrested on charges of the premeditated murder of a family member in aggravating circumstances.

“An investigation has established that I.N. stabbed his son, born in 2019, to death and injured his wife Sh.Ts. (DoB 1996). She was taken to the local hospital,” the investigative agency said.

The detainee pleads guilty.

The reason behind the crime is not known at this stage. 

The crime is punishable by 13 to 17 years of imprisonment.
