COVID-19: We Face High Probability of Domestic Spread, Say Health Experts

The head of the National Center for Disease Control, Amiran Gamkrelidze, today disclosed his fears that Georgia is facing a high probability of domestic spread, as no initial source has been established for three coronavirus-related cases.

“One of these three patients is already isolated and we have high hopes that we can track back the source of the infection. However, the two other cases are very threatening as there is practically no chance for us to determine the initial source. These persons might have passed on the disease to many others, which is an alarm signal of a presumably progressing internal transmission”, said Gamkrelidze.
