Gov't to Purchase Products to Create Supply in the Country

The Georgian government is planning to purchase 5,000 tons of sugar, 500 tons of pasta and 1,500,000 liters of oil to provide a supply of products in the country.

The above is specified in the decree issued by the local authorities.

The total price of the mentioned foodstuffs is GEL 16 million. 

Within the framework of the above program, products will be purchased by the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency.

Along with the creation of food supplies, the Government of Georgia also plans to maintain prices on 9 basic foodstuffs, most widely used by the population. 

The resolution issued on March 23 specifies that the program, the budget of which is GEL 10 million, will ensure maintaining prices on: rice, beans, pasta, buckwheat, sugar, wheat, flour, oil, and powdered milk.
