Turkish Police Arrest Georgians on Prostitution Charges

Six Georgian citizens were arrested in Rize, Turkey, and charged with prostitution.

According to Turkish news agencies, they were picked up during a series of police raids.

The Consulate General of Georgia in Trabzon, Manana Beriashvili, confirmed that Georgian citizens have been detained on prostitution charges.

“We have not received any official information about those detained, but in a phone conversation we were told the three Georgian citizens had already been deported to Georgia,” Beriashvili told Rustavi 2 TV.

Currently, an investigation is underway to reveal the identity of the detainees and learn more about their operation.
