10-year-old Tests Positive for COVID-19

The medical director of Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital, Marina Ezugbaia, says a 10-year-old is one of two patients who tested positive for COVID-19 earlier today.

Ezugbaia further informed the public that the infected child is now being transferred to Tbilisi Infections Hospital from Batumi.

“A second patient, a 10-year-old, is being transferred from Batumi. The medical history of the child is not known to me. The child is being transferred with a parent, who has not tested positive,” said Ezugbaia.

The second infected patient arrived from Armenia.

“The second one is an imported case. The patient came from Armenia and the condition is not critical. We are running some clinical-laboratory tests and I will report on the health of the patient tomorrow,” Ezugbaia reported.

Georgia has 117 confirmed coronavirus cases, of which 23 have recovered. 5783 people are currently quarantined.
