Another Georgian Clergyman in New York Tests Positive for COVID-19
A second Georgian clergyman residing in New York, Spiridon Narsia, has tested positive for COVID-19, the Bishop of the Diocese of North America Saba Intskirveli said in a video address released on social media.
"Unfortunately, Bishop Spiridon Narsia has tested positive for the coronavirus, as New York is the epicenter of the virus spread now. We do not know where he was infected or with whom he had been in contact. He has been undergoing treatment at home. I would like to ask you to pray for him and to mention both Father Ioseb and Father Spiridon in your prayers,” he said.
On March 25, Bishop Saba confirmed in a video message that clergyman of the Diocese, Ioseb Mindiashvil, was infected with the coronavirus.
“By naming a clergyman, I want to give an example of high social responsibility to people. You should not hide anything if the virus is detected,” Reverend Saba noted.
The clergyman showed suspicious symptoms on March 20.
