Starting today, Online Shopping again Allowed in Georgia
Starting today, online shopping in Georgia has again become permissible. The government has issued a new resolution, which is in force starting April 2.
In order to sell a product online, it is necessary for companies to allow the employees to work remotely from home. If it is "critically important" to work from the office, a maximum of five people may be allowed in the facility.
Until now, only food delivery services (ready meals) were available online. Through the new resolution, it is already possible to purchase foodstuffs, various products and items and medical supplies through online shopping.
For instance, if previously you could only order pizza and soup online, now you can remotely buy books, toys, and other necessary items.
With a government decree issued on March 30, online trading in Georgia had been restricted until the end of the State of Emergency regime (April 21).
In case of violation of the rules, the company (legal entity) would have been fined GEL 15 000. Repeated violations were punishable by prohibition or restriction of the company's activities.
