82 Quarantine Spaces Allocated throughout Georgia

With the support of the National Tourism Administration, 82 quarantine zones have been arranged throughout Georgia so far.

Owners of certain brand hotels have decided to assist the state and hand over their properties to the government free of charge to arrange quarantine spaces.

In recent days, the Sheraton Grand Hotel, Moxy Tbilisi, Ibis Styles Hotels, Ambassadori Kachreti and Dreamland Oasis Chakvi have set up rooms free of charge for recently arrived Georgian citizens who have to be placed in quarantine for 14 days.

GNTA employees, along with representatives of the ministries of Health and Internal Affairs, hold regular meetings with the staff and managers of the hotels in order to train them and inform about mandatory procedures that must be followed during the quarantine.

Head of the National Tourism Administration of Georgia Mariam Kvrivishvili and the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava have thanked hotel owners for their kind initiative, emphasizing that with this move, they have demonstrated a high sense of social responsibility and urging other hotels as well to follow their example and get involved in the important process of preventing a new coronavirus in Georgia.

The National Tourism Administration has organized quarantine zones in 82 hotels across Georgia, where up to 5500 citizens are placed.

"Thanks to our partner hotels, we are ready to receive even more citizens in quarantine zones if necessary," the GNTA Head said.

The GNTA continues negotiations with various hotels throughout the country to create new quarantine zones.

The Agency provides transportation, accommodation and meals for quarantined persons.

More than 1400 people have already left the quarantine spaces at this time.
