421 New Violations of State of Emergency Detected, 180 Fined

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has detected 421 new violations of the state of emergency regulations and curfew during the last 24 hours throughout the country.

180 citizens were fined for violating the curfew across the country last night.

In particular, 72 individuals were fined for public gathering, 180 for violating the curfew regulations, 1 for violating rules of business activities, 163 for violating rules of transportation and driving, and 5 for violating rules of quarantine and self-isolation.

In addition, police, along with the National Center for Disease Control, continue to tighten the control of self-isolated citizens. 

A nationwide curfew took effect in Georgia on March 31, meaning that citizens are banned from leaving their homes from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am.

The government made the decision to significantly tighten measures within the framework of the state of emergency, effectively declaring a universal quarantine.

The violation of the State of Emergency regulations is punishable with 3,000 GEL fine for individuals, as for legal entities, the fine amounts to 15,000 GEL.

Repeat offense is punishable by three years in prison.
