Georgian Airways to Bring Georgian Citizens Home
The rush to return home has been complicated by the ever-increasing number of entry restrictions announced globally, as well as airport closures.Though now’s not the time to travel, many have been left stranded by the immediate border closings; understandably, most are desperate to get home.
Fortunately, the Georgian government has been working to address the issue. In line with the Prime Minister’s instructions, the Coordination Council has determined additional flights to gradually bring Georgian citizens home. The company Georgian Airways is all set to conduct flights from the following destinations:
April 7 - Athens-Tbilisi
April 10 - Larnaca – Tbilisi
April 12 - Berlin-Tbilisi
April 14 - Amsterdam-Tbilisi
April 16- Paris- Tbilisi
April 18- Telaviv- Tbilisi
April 21- Rome- Tbilisi
Tickets shall be available for purchase on the company’s website 2 days before the scheduled flights; the price is set at EUR199.
In the process of transporting passengers, Georgian Airways will adhere to the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) to curb the spread of the coronavirus. Also, all the passengers will undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine.
Amid the new coronavirus crisis, around 5000 Georgian citizens have already been brought back home with the support of the Georgian government. Citizens have been evacuated from the following countries: China, Italy, Iran, Poland, Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Belarus, the Netherlands, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Armenia.
