Two Employees of Tbilisi Sea Hospital Infected with Coronavirus
Two employees of the Tbilisi Sea Hospital tested positive for coronavirus, Marekhi Bekaia, Head of the Critical Medical Department of the clinic, told reporters on Monday.
She explained that their condition is stable, with mild symptoms; however, they have been transferred to the First University Clinic in Tbilisi for further examination and treatment.
"All the people they had contact with have been quarantined, including patients. As for the source of the infection, epidemiologists' opinion differs on this issue. Some of them believe that the virus might have been imported, that is, they might be carriers and showed symptoms later, while another opinion is that they could be infected. So now epidemiological research is underway," she elaborated.
The number of coronavirus cases has increased to 188 in Georgia.
5056 people are in quarantine and 386 under examination in hospitals.
36 out of 188 people have recovered from the illness and two patients have died.
