Health Official: Do Not Go to Church, Pray for Our Country at Home
Paata Imnadze, Deputy Director of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, is calling on citizens not to go to church and to pray for the country and for each other at home for their own safety.
"Do not go to church to pray, pray at home. The doors of the church will not be closed, there will be priests who will pray for us, but we should pray at home for each other and for our country," he said.
Imnadze once again emphasized the need to maintain social distance and stay at home at a briefing held after the meeting of the Inter-Agency Coordination Council.
"I would like to address Christians and parishioners to protect our Church and priests by not going to the church and praying at home. We must protect them not only from this but other viruses as well," he said.
