The State Service Development Agency will resume issuing ID cards and biometric passports from today, the Ministry of Justice of Georgia announced.
According to the State Service Development Agency, during the state of emergency, it will be impossible to get an accelerated service and it will be provided to customers within the traditional time (10 days). Those who want to get a biometric passport and have held one before can apply to my.gov.ge or sda.gov.ge and the finished document will be sent to the interested person by mail.
“Those wishing to obtain an ID card and have already got an ID card or biometric passport must contact the hotline before 13 April: 032 2 40 10 10. The operator will book a meeting with the customer and specify the specific day, time and place where the citizen is to come. From April 13, he/she will be able to apply to my.gov.ge or sda.gov.ge, and the finished document will be sent to the interested party by mail.
A person who first receives a biometric passport and has never had it before, or receives an electronic ID card for the first time and has never had one or the other document before, must contact the hotline: 032 2 40 10 10. Individuals over the age of seventy and older will be able to apply for an ID card and a biometric passport (including when they first receive a document) without leaving home. To do this, the citizen must call the hotline and provide information to the operator, after which the equipped staff of the agency, in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization, will visit the interested person at the address indicated by him/her within 10 days.”
In all the above cases, the citizen will receive the finished document by mail.
