26 Clerics in Kiev, 8 Priests in Moscow Infected with COVID-19

26 clerics have tested positive for the new coronavirus in the Kiev Pechersk Lavra, Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated.

"I have met several times with representatives of different religious confessions and told them that they need to realize how much responsibility they have for the safety of believers,” he noted.

The monastery was closed for pilgrims a few days ago.

In addition, 8 clerics tested positive for coronavirus in Moscow.

Russian media reports that the symptoms of coronavirus have also been seen in three other priests, however, their diagnosis will be announced later.

The Russian Orthodox Church Working Group has announced that the parish of 6 churches of Moscow are at risk. They called on them to stay in self-isolation.
