Ezugbaia Assesses Georgia-Made Face Masks
The Medical Director of Tbilisi Infections Hospital Marina Ezugbaia has assessed the quality of face masks made in Georgia.
“On television and social media, they like to make fun of the Georgian-made face masks that right now are worn by me and one of the journalists here. I would like to tell you that these face masks can absolutely protect you from infections that spread through saliva, as well as COVID-19. This face mask has been tested by the safety service of the NCDC (National Center for Disease Control and Public Health). They have met all the criteria and I am telling our population that these face masks are not dangerous,” Ezugbaia has said.
Due to the high demand for face masks, Georgian pharmacies are now selling Georgia-made face masks. Over a period of two weeks, six Georgian factories manufactured a million face masks. Two more factories joined the production on Monday.
