Coronavirus: British PM Discharged from the Hospital
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson was discharged from the hospital on Sunday as his health condition significantly improved. The British PM was being treated for COVID-19 at a London hospital.
A spokesperson of the British PM has said that PM Johnson’s going back home does not mean he will be immediately going back for work.
"On the advice of his medical team, the PM will not be immediately returning to work. He wishes to thank everybody at St Thomas' for the brilliant care he has received,” the spokesperson reported.
The British PM took to Twitter to announce that he owes his life to the medical staff.
“It is hard to find the words to express my debt to the NHS for saving my life.
The efforts of millions of people across this country to stay home are worth it. Together we will overcome this challenge, as we have overcome so many challenges in the past,” reads the tweet of the British head of the government.
On April 5, Prime Minister Johnson was taken to St Thomas' Hospital in central London as he was suffering from coronavirus persistent symptoms.
He spent three days from April 6 to 9, in intensive care. In the last few days, his health condition was gradually improving, resulting in his discharge from the hospital on Sunday.
