Holy Fire Descends in Jerusalem

The Holy Fire came down from Christ Church in the Old City of Jerusalem, on the eve of Orthodox Easter.

The Holy Fire descended at 14:50 Tbilisi time.

Unlike previous years, only several representatives of different Eastern Orthodox churches were present in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. No parishioners were allowed to attend the ceremony.

Holy fire will be brought to Georgia today. 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that the holy fire will be brought by a special flight, which will also bring Georgian citizens from Tel Aviv to Tbilisi today.

"The holy fire will be brought from Jerusalem to Georgia with the flight organized by the Embassy of Georgia in Israel. The Ambassador of Georgia will deliver the Holy Fire directly to the representatives of the Georgian Patriarchate, who will fly to Tel Aviv from Tbilisi,” the Foreign Ministry explained.
