One Arrested for Fire in Saakashvili Presidential Library

Police have detained one person in relation to a fire at the Mikheil Saakashvili Presidential Library in Tbilisi, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports. 

The individual, identified as B.K., (DoB 1991) was arrested in Tbilisi on charges of damaging or destroying an item by setting it on fire.

The exact reason behind the crime is not known at this stage. 

A fire broke out in Saakashvili Presidential Library yesterday. 

Four groups of fire and rescue services worked on the spot. Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire timely. There were no injuries.

An investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the crime. 

"The crime envisages imprisonment for 3 to 5 years,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
