COVID-19: Georgian Woman, 80, Pulled Back from Critical Condition

Giuli Urushadze, 80, has recovered from COVID-19 after a weeks-long battle with the deadly pathogen.

Giuli’s condition worsened immediately after her arrival at the First University Clinic, where she remained unconscious for more than a week in the intensive care unit.

Thanking doctors for saving her life, and praising their professionalism, Giuli wrote a post on her Facebook page: “I am 80 years old and I defeated the coronavirus. I have gone through a tough 10-day struggle, being on the verge of life and death. I would like to thank the Director General of the First University Clinic, Professor Levan Ratiani, along with his extraordinary team.”

Calling on everyone to stay home, Urushadze said our support is crucial for the doctors, who spare no effort to save the lives of those in need.

Georgian doctors have managed to save lives of several critical COVID-19 patients, one of them with hardly 3% chance of survival.

Georgia has hitherto registered 411 cases of the coronavirus infection, with 5 deaths and 98 recoveries.
