'Keep Georgia Tidy' Invites Schoolchildren to Participate in Eco-contest
On the occasion of Earth Day celebrated worldwide on April 22, as part of the Eco-School Program, the NGO 'Keep Georgia Tidy' is inviting schoolchildren to participate in an environmental contest.
"Although people have to stay at home, there has been no improvement in environmental pollution. Moreover, disposable protective equipment has become an additional source of contamination. Resolving this problem requires raising the awareness of the population, as well as multiple communication activities, the first stage of which can be carried out without leaving home, by schoolchildren and their family members.
"That is why the organization 'Keep Georgia Tidy' offers schoolchildren aged 7-14 throughout the country the chance to participate in a competition and involve different generations of their families," the NGO announced.
Terms of the competition:
1. If you notice a place of contamination near your home, describe the situation and think about how you can explain to the population why you should not pollute the environment and why the involvement of each person is important. Do you know of any other way to reduce waste?
2. Create your own family group (with grandparents, mother or father, sister, or brother) and prepare posters with them (using original slogans, calls to action and drawings) to help people engage in environmental activities and focus on this common problem.
3. Introduce us to the members of your group (with the help of photos or video) and upload your work on social media with the hashtag #eco-school (#ეკოსკოლა) #careforenvironment (#იზრუნეგარემოზე) #stayathome (#დარჩისახლში) and send it to the following address: info@kgt.ge
A special jury will evaluate the submitted works and identify the three winners who will be awarded eco-friendly prizes.
Works will be accepted until May 23.
Georgia joined the World Eco-School Program in early April. Its regional representative is the organization "Keep Georgia Tidy." With the initiative of the NGO and financial support of the Swedish government, the competition 'Take Care of the Environment and Win' is held.
