Police Detain Man Accused of Murdering His Family, Neighbors
Law enforcers have detained an individual, identified as N.G., (DoB 1963) accused of murdering 4 people, including family members, in the village of Kandaura, Kakheti region, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia reports. The crime was committed in May 2019.
An investigation established that on May 3, 2019, on the basis of a conflict, the detainee inflicted severe injuries with a firearm on his family members and neighbors.
Initially, an 85-year-old man was arrested for the crime; however, the Prosecutor's Office said on July 27 that he had been charged with "assistance in murdering by the handing over of a firearm to another person for this purpose."
On July 20, 2019, N.G. was declared 'wanted'. As a result of operative-search and investigative activities, law enforcers detained N.G. in his own house. Police have already seized the supposed weapon of crime as evidence.
The investigation is underway under Article 109 of the criminal code of Georgia, which envisages premeditated murder committed against a family member under aggravating circumstances.
The committed crime envisages from 13 to 17 years of imprisonment.
