Ten Ambulance Workers Test Positive for COVID-19

9 members of ambulance crews tested positive for the new coronavirus in Marneuli municipality today, the Ministry of Health reports.

Another ambulance worker tested positive for the virus in Kvareli, a small town in Georgia's Kakheti region.

This is the first confirmed case of the coronavirus infection in the eastern region, which means that Kakheti is no longer a so-called "green zone."

The infected persons have been placed in the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Tbilisi.

Currently, a detailed epidemiological examination is ongoing and those who have been in contact with the infected persons are being investigated.

The majority of the infected persons are from the so-called Bolnisi cluster, where a total of 21 medical workers have been infected with COVID-19.
