Online Consultation on Migration Challenges Held for Georgian Compatriots Abroad

Online consultations with compatriots living abroad have been launched on the decision of the Interagency Coordinating Council on Coronavirus, led by the Prime Minister of Georgia, and organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.

For this purpose, the official MFA Facebook page hosted THE live broadcast of Ana Kakushadze, a spokesperson for the International Organization for Migration (IOM), on May 6,, who spoke for 1 hour on the migration challenges during pandemic conditions, on the activities of the organization in the new reality, the possibilities of helping citizens, and answered the questions of our compatriots abroad.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) was established in 1951 by the United Nations Migration Agency, which is a leading intergovernmental organization in the field of migration. 173 states are members of the organization. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has been operating in Georgia since 1993.

According to the Coordinating Council and in cooperation with the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia and the National Center for Disease Control, 10 online consultations on coronavirus have been held so far and are to continue in the future.
