Diplomatic Missions of Georgia Assist 20,218 Citizens Abroad, Send 10,780 Home

Acting at the instruction of the Coordination Council and in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Georgia’s diplomatic representations abroad continue to assist Georgian citizens stranded in foreign countries due to the pandemic.

As of May 13, the diplomatic missions of Georgia provided assistance to 20,218 citizens, while 10,780 citizens were sent to their homeland on flights organized by the Coordinating Council or other travel means.

"Persons wishing to return to Georgia need to fill in special e-applications that are posted on the websites of the Georgian Foreign Ministry and the Georgian Embassies abroad. The relevant decision is made after the information provided in the applications is processed,” reads the website the MFA Georgia. 
On May 12, a charter flight brought home up to 120 Georgians from London, including students, elderly people, individuals with special needs and transit passengers.
 
After returning home, the citizens were placed in a 14-day mandatory quarantine

Upcoming flights are as follows: May 15- Amsterdam-Tbilisi; May 18 - Larnaca-Tbilisi; May 20 - Athens-Tbilisi; May 22 - Rome-Tbilisi.
