Ukraine Extradites Georgian Citizen Wanted for Terrorism
A Georgian citizen wanted by Interpol on terrorism charges has been repatriated from Ukraine to Georgia.
The Georgian State Security Service has officially undisclosed that the Ukrainian security forces detained Tsezar Tokhosashvili, also known as Al-bara Shishani, in Kyiv on November 12, 2019, on charges of ‘participation in a terrorist organization’.
According to the inquiry by the Georgian Counterterrorism Center, Tokhosashvili had joined the terrorist organization ISIS in Syria and had been vigorously partaking in terrorist activities since 2015.
It was identified that the international criminal had familiar associations with the leaders of the ISIS organization, including Tarkhan Batirashvili, Islam Atabiev and Akmed Chataev.
Tokhosashvili was charged in absence and sentenced to imprisonment by Tbilisi City Court. Crimes relating to terrorism are punishable by 15 years in prison, in Georgia.
