TBC Bank Hosts Online Forum on its Projects and Results in Coronavirus Pandemic
TBC Bank, one of the leading financial institutions in Georgia, has held an online forum for media representatives to discuss its crisis management strategies, achievements and future plans amid the global pandemic.
At the online meeting, the main priorities of the Bank were reviewed. The representatives of the Bank claimed that the main mission of TBC is to make the lives of its customers easier by offering them innovative and useful technologies, allowing them to save time and energy.
Main challenges during the pandemic
TBC is s the number one brand in terms of awareness, which gives its managers even more responsibility towards its employees and customers.
As Vakhtang Butskhrikidze, General Director of TBC noted, switching to remote services was one of the first challenges during the pandemic, which was implemented quite successfully.
Protecting the interests of its employees and customers was of utmost importance, accordingly, the Bank implemented several initiatives for this purpose.
To protect its employees from stress, TBC initially announced that it would have kept absolutely all the employees despite their position and role in the Bank and that no one would have lost their jobs, which significantly reduced stress and increased their motivation and effectiveness of performed work.
In addition, the Bank has been organizing online seminars, masterclasses, lectures, meetings with famous people from various fields in order to improve their mood, educate and encourage the employees. Communication with employees was also an important aspect. It is noteworthy that TBC managed to arrange IT Academy in a fully remote format, which turned out to be quite successful.
As for the customers' interests, the Bank was one of the first financial institutions that made an important step in this direction and offered a 3-months grace period on loans for those who lost their incomes amid the pandemic. In June, the offer has been prolonged for an additional 3 months.
“We have decided to offer three-month repayment holidays on micro, small and medium loans to all individuals and businesses engaged in tourism or food service.
"With the current situation in the country, TBC makes life easier for people and businesses," the Bank representatives emphasized.
How is the bank assisting businesses?
In order to help businesses in these challenging times, TBC has funded projects in the corporate sector with 560 million GEL, provided a digital transformation for 450 micro, small and medium business companies and attracted $154 million from international financial organizations.
It is scheduled to attract $450 million until the end of the year.
New campaign: 'Here and Now'
TBC, as an innovative digital service provider, allows people to easily and quickly receive remote services.
For this purpose, the Bank launched a new campaign for a business, entitled 'Here and Now.'
The campaign was launched on the last day of the lockdown.
This is TBC's new promise today - people will work together with the company, here and now, to achieve their goals and create a better future.
Part of society perceived this phrase from the brand as a kind of encouragement and advice - not to postpone anything.
Today, TBC is creating a new history and opportunity, its own "here and now," telling its customers: "Hello, no matter who you are, we are always by your side."

Future plans
TBC plans to have 10 million customers by 2022, and 5.4 million users including ecosystems. The opening of the first branch in Uzbekistan is also scheduled in the near future. Moreover, it will continue to intensively protect the customers' interest and promote business education in the country for its better tomorrow.
