First Phase of Kutaisi Int'l University Construction Completed

The first phase of construction of Kutaisi University (KIU), one of the most important and largest-scale projects in the modern history of Georgia in the field of education, has been completed: the new educational facility is ready to receive the first flow of students from autumn 2020.

KIU will welcome them with fully furnished dormitories of modern standards, studio-type rooms with autonomous heating and cooling systems, bathrooms, bedrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen and study areas. The rooms are equipped with modern appliances, furniture, all necessary equipment, and continuous internet connection.

The campus of Kutaisi International University, which is built on an area of 153 ha, includes ultra-modern academic buildings, libraries, cafeterias, well-equipped sports and road infrastructure, common workspaces, student dormitories, and accommodation for academic and administrative staff. Currently, the gradual development and construction of the university city is underway.

Kutaisi International University is located in an ecologically clean environment near Kutaisi, a city in Imereti region,  western Georgia. 

This year, the university will offer students bachelor programs in Mathematics, Management and Computer Science.

Enrollment at the university is based on the Unified National Exams. Programs will be offered in English, and lectures will be given by Georgian and foreign professors and lecturers. The University has a Student Grants Fund, through which entrants can obtain both a study and a housing grant.

The University cooperates with the leading European Technical University of Munich (TUM International GmbH and TUM). KIU's operating model and programs are developed in partnership with TUM and TUM International GmbH.
