Rescuers Recover Body of a 19-year-old Footballer

The rescuers of the Emergency Management Service of Georgia have recovered the body of a 19-year-old footballer Giorgi Shakarashvili, who went missing in unclear circumstances 4 days ago.

The body was found in the Aragvi River following rescue operations conducted in the rivers of Mtkvari and Aragvi, in the vicinity of the town of Mtskheta. 

The Shakarashvili family applied to the Agency about the disappearance of the football player on June 19.

Giorgi went missing after attending a party held in one of the summer houses near Tbilisi together with several friends, where a confrontation occurred between the guests gathered on the spot. 

The investigation is underway to determine other details behind the incident.
