Hans Kluge on Georgia's Timely COVID-19 Response and Robust Recovery

Hans Kluge, the WHO Regional Director for Europe, praised Georgia for imposing public health measures at an early stage, including tracing and isolating persons with suspicious symptoms and taking COVID-19 testing seriously even before the spread of the virus across the country.

“Georgia is taking a step further, namely by working on economic recovery plan and putting health as a political priority, as well as working on the second wave”, Kluge added at today’s online conference.

Kluge also stressed the importance of looking into the recent developments in the occupied territories of Georgia, saying the World Health Organization (WHO) has been cooperating closely with the Georgian government on that matter.
