Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 5 New Cases, 8 Recoveries
5 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Georgia during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number to 958, government-run special website stopcov.ge reports.
Marina Ezugbaia, the Medical Director of the Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital, stated on Tuesday that all 5 new cases are imported, while 3 newly infected persons are truck drivers and two are Georgian citizens who entered the country from Armenia and tested positive for coronavirus while in mandatory quarantine.
The number of recoveries has increased by 8, to reach 838.
3903 people are under a 14-day mandatory quarantine and 202 are under observation in hospitals.
15 people have died of the virus in the country.
Currently, there are 105 active cases in Georgia.
Most of the cases detected during the last two weeks have been imported and the infected persons are mostly truck drivers.
All individuals entering the country will still have to go through a two-week quarantine.
