University Entrant Tests Positive for Coronavirus

A university entrant, who was taking the Unified National Exams on July 7, has tested positive for coronavirus, the Ministry of Education of Georgia announced at a briefing today.

Those who were in contact with the entrant have been identified and said entrant is said to be in good health.

The head of the National Center for Disease Control, Amiran Gamkrelidze, stated that all appropriate measures have been taken and the infected person has been hospitalized.

Nine university entrants who were in contact with the infected person are now in quarantine and under medical observation. They will undergo PCR Testing before each folowing exam.

Reportedly, the university entrant was infected by a family member.
