Wizz Air Abu Dhabi to Fly New Route from Kutaisi
Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air has announced the upcoming launch of 6 highly anticipated routes to and from Abu Dhabi, starting October 1. One of the new destinations is Kutaisi, Georgia.
Flights connecting Kutaisi to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, will be carried out two times a week. The new route will add about 25,000 new locations to Kutaisi Airport each year.
Director of the United Airports of Georgia, Tamar Archuadze, said that adding a new route from Kutaisi airport proves that Wizz Air has long-term plans for the Georgian market.
József Váradi, chairman of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi and CEO of Wizz Air Group, said: “This announcement is the first step of a long and much awaited journey, as we are dedicated to developing our presence in Abu Dhabi, contributing to Abu Dhabi’s economic diversity strategy while offering ever more affordable travel opportunities on our low fare network.”
"For the first time in the history of Kutaisi International Airport, it will be possible to get to the Middle East by regular direct flights", reads the press release published by United Airports of Georgia.
The six destinations Wizz Air will fly to/ from Abu Dhabi are: Kutaisi, Odessa, Alexandria, Athens, Larnaca and Yerevan.
Wizz Air has implemented additional preventive measures aimed at minimizing the potential spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
