16 people have died of the virus in the country.
41 citizens of Georgia have been transported to the country from abroad for treatment.
Currently, there are 150 active cases in Georgia.
In the last few days, there has been an increase in new cases of coronavirus in Georgia, mainly in the Gardabani municipality.
Yesterday, on July 21, NCDC Director Amiran Gamkrelidze said that out of 63 new cases detected in the last week, 24 were reported in the villages of Gardabani Municipality.
"Due to the newly emerged 'Gardabani cluster', the rise in the number of coronavirus cases was probably expected," said Marina Ezugbaia, the Medical Director of the Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital.
"We now have two clusters in Gardabani rayon. There are 4 villages with more than 7 thousand inhabitants. The rise in cases was probably expected because of the new source. The checking of this municipality will continue and if the inhabitants observe the regulations, I don't see it going further than this cluster," she stated.
