Georgia Registers 8 New COVID Cases


On Tuesday morning, Georgia confirmed 8 new coronavirus cases which brought the country’s total to 1145. Georgia has seen 927 recoveries, and currently has 202 active cases. There have been 16 coronavirus-related fatalities in the country.

Marina Ezugbaia, the Medical Director of the Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital, talked to reporters about the new cases. One of the new COVID patients was infected at the Lilo market; another in Gachiani in the Gardabani Municipality, and a third patient was infected through a coronavirus patient. 4 of the new cases were imported, and Ezugbaia stated that two of these are truck drivers. One patient who has recently tested positive for the coronavirus is a medical personnel. Ezugbaia also informed the public that currently 41 COVID patients are being treated in Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital, and most of them are in moderate health.
