Former PM's Son Sentenced to Imprisonment for Attempted Premeditated Murder
The son of former Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania, Busa Zhvania, who was arrested for the attempted premeditated murder of the grandson of entrepreneur Gogi Topadze, has been sentenced to imprisonment.
The defense demanded his release on 50,000 GEL bail, but the judge did not satisfy this motion.
Busa Zhvania was arrested on Saturday in the home of the family of Levan Topadze, where the incident took place.
The police report says that the detainee stabbed the grandson of the Georgian businessman several times, while Zhvania himself was also lightly wounded.
Levan Topadze has been hospitalized and operated on and his condition is stable at this point.
The mentioned crime envisages from 7 to 15 years of imprisonment.
