Day 3: Rescuers Search for Girl, 19, in Rioni River

Rescuers of the Emergency Management Service have been searching for 19-year-old Natia Shavadze in the Rioni River in the western city of Poti for 3 days now.

Witnesses of the incident claim that the young girl jumped from the bridge into the river to commit suicide late at night.

The incident took place on August 3.

About 45 rescuers and 4 divers are looking for the body in the river, drones are also being used.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation under Article 115 of the Criminal Code, which stipulates events leading to suicide.
