Vehicle Customs Clearance Fees to be Postponed until March 2021

The deadline for vehicle customs clearance fees has been extended until March 2021, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia announced at a government meeting today.

He noted that fines will not be accrued during the deferral.

"It's a fact that the impact of the crisis will be long-term. Car importers have already addressed us several times. We have already postponed customs clearance once. In the interests of the fiscal year, it would probably be better to postpone it until March 2021, in addition, fines will not be accrued. This refers to about 24 thousand cars and this is a tax deferral of about 30 million,” said the head of the government.
